Laramie High School 2026

Day 1: June 14th, 2026

Our journey in the land of Pura Vida has begun! We arrived in Costa Rica with suitcases full of excitement, curiosity, and a desire to learn about a new culture and country. This week promises to be filled with unforgettable experiences, new friendships, and many emotions as we explore all that Costa Rica has to offer.

Day 2: June 15th, 2026

Today, we enjoyed a delicious Costa Rican lunch and learned how to prepare the traditional dish known as arroz con pollo—or as we learned from the locals, arroz con siempre! It was a fun and tasty way to experience Costa Rican culture. Later, we visited the Sloth Garden, where we had the opportunity to see sloths up close. They were absolutely adorable, and we learned so much about their habits, behavior, and importance to Costa Rica's wildlife. It was a memorable day full of learning and new experiences!


Day 3: June 16th, 2026

Today, we had the opportunity to hike through the beautiful Santa Elena Cloud Forest Reserve. We learned that cloud forests are very rare ecosystems that require specific conditions to exist, making them unique in the world. During our walk, we observed a great variety of insects and admired the incredible diversity of plants and vegetation surrounding us. It was an amazing experience that helped us better understand the importance and beauty of Costa Rica’s natural environments.

Day 4: June 17th, 2026

Today, we had the opportunity to visit an authentic Costa Rican coffee farm. We learned about the different stages of coffee production, including the drying and roasting processes that give coffee its unique flavors and aromas. We also planted our own coffee seedlings and gained a deeper appreciation for the hard work behind every cup of coffee. To top it all off, we enjoyed a delicious coffee tasting, making this an unforgettable cultural experience.

Day 5: June 18th, 2026

Today was a very special day for our group. We participated in a volunteer project with Siempre Amigos and visited the home of a wonderful local family. Together, we spent the day painting their house and working as a team to make a positive impact. It was a rewarding experience that allowed us to connect with the community and create lasting memories.



Day 6: June 19th, 2026

Today was an exciting day full of adventure and adrenaline! We experienced the thrill of ziplining high above the ground, soaring through the treetops and enjoying incredible views from the canopy. Along the way, we were able to admire the beauty of the cloud forest, surrounded by lush vegetation and breathtaking scenery. It was an unforgettable experience and one of the highlights of our time in Costa Rica.



Day 7: June 20th, 2026

After a wonderful week in Monteverde learning Spanish and experiencing Costa Rican culture, we headed to Tamarindo to enjoy the beautiful beaches of Guanacaste. We spent an amazing day by the ocean, soaking up the sun, enjoying the scenery, and even taking surf lessons. Catching our first waves was both exciting and challenging, making it a memorable experience for everyone.




Day 8: June 21th, 2026

Today was a perfect day to relax and enjoy the beauty of Costa Rica. We spent the morning at the beach, soaking up the sun and enjoying the ocean. In the afternoon, we set sail on a catamaran adventure, swimming in the crystal-clear turquoise waters and taking in the stunning coastal views. The day ended with a breathtaking sunset over the Pacific, creating unforgettable memories for everyone.
 



Day 9: June 22th, 2026

Today was our last day in Costa Rica, and it’s hard to believe how quickly the time has passed. We are not ready to say goodbye! Over the past weeks, we have met so many wonderful people, visited beautiful places, and learned so much about the language, culture, and way of life. We leave with unforgettable memories, new friendships, and a deep appreciation for this amazing country. Costa Rica will always have a special place in our hearts.
